Jimmy Wyler:
Do you believe in redemption, Mr. White?
White:
As long as it doesn't require funeral arrangements.
Neil Avedon:
What are the chances the judge will keep Dr. Lester's records sealed?
Theodore Hoffman:
Zero. But I think she's wrong. And if I'm right about him, Lester's records are filled with references to your violent nature.
Chris Docknovich:
Including a back-dated memo describing how you confessed to murdering Jessica.
Neil Avedon:
This is my shrink we're talking about?
Theodore Hoffman:
We're talking about a thoroughly corrupt bastard who's selling you down the river.
Annie Hoffman:
I keep putting this conversation off and putting it off and I can't any more. I can't keep living the way we've been living.
Theodore Hoffman:
The trial's been exhausting, I know.
Annie Hoffman:
I think we need to separate for a while.
Theodore Hoffman:
Annie, don't do this, I love you.
Annie Hoffman:
[in tears] I'm sorry.
Theodore Hoffman:
Cross said he'd waive any conflict. He wants me to represent Avedon.
David Blalock:
Complicated man.
Theodore Hoffman:
Davey, if I was making book I make it three to one Avedon didn't kill that girl.
David Blalock:
Well, if he was guilty you wouldn't think he'd have told Polson he was at the girl's apartment just to get out from under a drug bust.
Theodore Hoffman:
If Cross did it, why does he want me on the case?
David Blalock:
'Cause he likes playing with fire and you're the hottest guy in town...
Theodore Hoffman:
If he didn't do it then it makes more sense. Take a ride with me to Parker Center. We're going to represent this kid.
Chris Docknovich:
You don't hold out much hope Cross is still there, do you?
Theodore Hoffman:
Richard Cross has always managed to stay one step ahead of us. If he's dying, it just might allow us to catch up.
